The tide is an
online Nigerian dailies published by Rivers State Newspaper Corporation. It
commenced production December 1, 1971. Since it is funded by the state
government, the news coverage is more inclined towards the interest of the
people of rivers state.

is the most respected source of news and information for readers in the
country, with the latest stories on politics and current affairs, business and
technology, sport, culture and the acts, as well as the popular citylife
supplement, with nightlife news, restaurant reviews and top events.

Before the brand
name, there is a link to subscribe for post, comment, email. Under the brand
name, the pay-off which is "A commitment to truth" founded 1971 on
the right hand side there is search in site where local update are searched
for.
There is usually a
big picture of the day at the left side under the brand name, while other
pictures are set underneath from left to right. Followed by other news items
such as opinion, breaking news, business news, news itself, editorial, with
each having their headlines and little story which has

option to view stories in full. Also, at the middle of the page there are news
item spaces for other geopolitical zone. Thereafter are different beats such as
education, politics, oil and energy.
At the right hand side there is
"advert" and beneath the advert there is a link for the tide with two
options of search archive and feature links, where past and previous stories
are recorded. And also where you can search by date, category and with Google.
At the bottom part
of the site are links to special editions, maritime, sports and business.
Beneath it is a blue shaded background link where all information about the
organisation can be accessed such as about us, RSS, copyright, sponsor.

CRITICISM
The middle of the
page has a space meant for news items from other geopolitical zone in Nigeria
but do not contain news, as it is just a blank space. There is need for the
space to be filled up since it was allocated and marked-out for it.
